Since it is essentially a facial therapy, the process definitely includes regular steps of cleansing, exfoliating, extraction and moisturising, but it is all done on an intense level. The level of penetration is higher than a regular facial. And the process and technique varies based on which type of medi-facial is being done. An anti-acne medi-facial will include a peeling agent, whereas a hydrating technique will incorporate the use of electroporation, for a quick glow and instant rejuvenation, some serum may be used, and an oxygen-infusing machine can also be used in the process for dull skin or even for sun-damaged skin. In anti-ageing medi-facials, some microcurrents or ultrasound waves are also used for toning, lifting and firming of the skin; the vampire medi-facial incorporates the process of drawing the client's blood, and purified platelets are re-injected back into the face to repair fine lines, uneven skin tones and to improve quality of the skin.
Good for whomMedi-facials are best suited for a variety of skin concerns. Based on the equipment or the product being used, the facial can be customised and used for a skin type which has acne and scars, open pores, tanned skin or can even be done for a mature skin and dehydrated skin.
PrecautionsIf there are open wounds on the skin, or if the skin is sunburnt, it is best not treated. Don't do a deep peel or a laser treatment soon before or after a medi-facial. Avoid excessive sun exposure after the treatment. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen religiously after a medi-facial.
