In house quick fix to fight acne and acne pigmentation

Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring.

Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is usually the result of nodular acne lesions. These lesions often leave behind an inflamed darkened mark after the original acne lesion has resolved. This inflammation stimulates specialized pigment-producing skin cells (known as melanocytes) to produce more melanin pigment which leads to the skin's darkened appearance People with darker skin color are more frequently affected by this condition. The pigmented scar is a common term used for PIH but is misleading as it suggests the color change is permanent. Often, PIH can be prevented by avoiding any aggravation of the nodule and can fade with time. However, untreated PIH can last for months, years, or even be permanent if deeper layers of skin are affected.

Dr Sneh thadani explains how to get rid of these stubborn ugly dark marks One should always use sunscreen – minimum of SPF 15, 30 minutes prior to stepping out of the home . Even minimum ultraviolet light exposure makes these lesion turn red and eventually dark brown to black Chemical peels can be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars. Mild peels include those using glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, Jessner's solution, or a lower concentration (20%) of trichloroacetic acid.

These peels only affect the epidermal layer of the skin and can be useful in the treatment of superficial acne scars as well as skin pigmentation changes from inflammatory acne Higher concentrations of trichloroacetic acid (30–40%) are considered to be medium-strength peels and affect the skin as deep as the papillary dermis.

Formulations of trichloroacetic acid concentrated to 50% or more are considered to be deep chemical peels. newer combination peels work wonders in terms of controlling excessive sebum production reduces the formation of acne reduces the accumulated pigment helps with superficial scarring and yag q switched laser- also know as skin miracle laser- this laser blast the pigment cells in your skin and helps the body to eliminate these tiny pigments cells – giving you a clear skin works to reduce pores helps lighten the stubborn marks reduces the superficial scars so come book an appointment at skin soul to get rid of those ugly stubborn marks and achieve a healthy clear skin.
